Senior Software Engineer, Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and develop backend services using TypeScript for both real-time and asynchronous risk decision-making.

• Construct and manage event-driven workflows utilizing queues, pub/sub systems, and cloud task infrastructure.

• Design and execute state machines to represent multi-step decision-making and verification processes.

• Collaborate closely with product, operations, and infrastructure teams to build and enhance backend services.

• Engage in code reviews and participate in various team activities.

• Take ownership of the complete delivery process for small to medium-sized projects from the design phase to production.

• Provide technical leadership and influence the overall technical direction of the team.

• Mentor and collaborate with other engineers on a regular basis.

• Develop products that assist millions in enhancing their financial relationships.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in software development.

• Practical experience with event-driven architecture (including message queues, pub/sub, or similar systems).

• Familiarity with cloud task/job scheduling systems (such as Cloud Tasks, SQS, Celery, or their equivalents).

• Experience in designing or implementing state machines for multi-step workflows.

• Strong foundation in computer science principles and adept problem-solving abilities.

• Demonstrated capability to function effectively as part of a team.

• Proficiency in programming with TypeScript/JavaScript (Node.js) or comparable experience in Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.

• Experience with MySQL and Google Cloud Platform.

• Effective communication skills, a positive demeanor, and the ability to provide and accept constructive feedback.

• Ability to articulate and explain system architecture and design concepts.

• Comfortable integrating AI tools into your engineering workflow, with sound judgment on their application.

• Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
