Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, enhance, and optimize high-throughput backend services and data-processing systems utilizing Java.

• Process and transform substantial amounts of fragmented, lossy data into precise contact entities.

• Design and implement scalable solutions for entity resolution, attribute selection, and contact publication.

• Enhance employment accuracy by identifying outdated jobs and assessing when contacts are no longer linked to a company.

• Improve the grouping of data fragments into individual contact profiles.

• Create rules, testing frameworks, and scalable methods to infer data quality without extensive manual review.

• Collaborate with systems and services that support around 400 million contact profiles.

• Work alongside data scientists on initiatives related to data quality, profiling, and entity resolution.

• Partner with Data Tools, Match, Company, and other data engineering teams to develop cross-functional solutions.

• Contribute to the technical strategy, architecture, code quality, performance, and scalability throughout the Person Data platform.

• Engage in sprint planning and autonomously select tasks based on expertise and areas for development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive professional experience in software engineering, particularly in building backend systems.

• In-depth knowledge of Java and robust software engineering principles.

• Experience in designing, building, and scaling high-throughput or distributed systems.

• Familiarity with large-scale data-processing pipelines and big data frameworks.

• Proficiency with Kafka or other event-streaming technologies.

• Capability to write efficient, reliable, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code.

• Experience in modifying and enhancing existing production systems, including complex or legacy codebases.

• Strong problem-solving abilities with a knack for developing scalable rules, testing frameworks, and data-quality solutions.

• Excellent skills in collaboration and communication.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Nice to have: Experience with GCP or GCS.

• Nice to have: Experience with BigQuery.

• Nice to have: Experience with Solr or Elasticsearch.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with entity resolution, match-merge systems, record linkage, or data deduplication.

• Nice to have: Experience in working with employment, professional, CRM, or other contact-related data.

• Nice to have: Experience with lossy, incomplete, or fragmented datasets.

• Nice to have: Experience partnering with data science teams to integrate analytical or machine learning initiatives into production workflows.

• Nice to have: Experience in ad tech, CRM, marketing technology, or another high-volume, data-driven environment.
