Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, implement, and sustain Tilled services.

• Design and create systems that are highly reliable and fault tolerant.

• Gather and visualize comprehensive telemetry data to continuously enhance systems.

• Promote and adhere to superior coding practices, including unit testing and pair programming.

• Assume full responsibility for the ongoing monitoring and enhancement of developed services.

• Foster an engineering team culture that values continuous learning, motivation, and collaboration.

• Utilize TypeScript, Angular, NodeJS, and Postgres in your work.

• Collaborate directly with the Director of Engineering.

• Contribute across the complete technology stack.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

• Must reside within a United States time zone.

• Must be comfortable working remotely.

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in building and managing production software systems.

• Extensive experience with TypeScript and Node.js, or a similar modern backend technology stack.

• Strong expertise in relational databases, especially Postgres, including schema design, indexing, and optimizing query performance.

• Proven ability to exercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations within fast-paced, high-growth environments.

• Demonstrated capability to work independently in a distributed team setting.

• Genuine enthusiasm for elevating the team's standards.

• Flexibility to work from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

• Experience with Angular is preferred.

• Background in a startup environment is preferred.

• Familiarity with AWS is preferred.

• Experience in developing or integrating payment systems, such as Stripe or Braintree.

• Proven history of significantly enhancing production system performance, quality, or reliability.
