This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as one of the initial engineers on the Navigators team within Teacher & Learning Explorations.
• Design and manage contracts between the Libraries and four products, including OpenAPI interfaces, typed message schemas, and versioning protocols.
• Develop the discovery layer for search, relevance, and content retrieval across a diverse and extensive content library.
• Create and uphold continuous delivery pipelines for code, infrastructure, configuration, and data.
• Advance engineering culture, standards, and best practices concerning security, governance, and innovative ideas.
• Assist in determining open technology stack decisions.
• Ensure a fast and intuitive experience for admins to govern and curate, teachers to locate and instruct, and students to explore and enhance their libraries.
• Significant professional experience in building and operating production backend services.
• Proficient in TypeScript, or strong expertise in a similarly typed language with a genuine willingness to work within a strict TypeScript codebase.
• Proven ownership of API contracts in a multi-service environment: designing, versioning, and testing them.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud operations; capable of designing infrastructure and writing infrastructure as code using Terraform on AWS.
• Experience in building and maintaining continuous delivery pipelines while reducing toil in build and release systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with distributed engineering, product, and design teams; ability to convey technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in mentoring engineers.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
