Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and create software solutions that support public health and public safety IT initiatives.

• Develop applications that feature substantial automation and tailored product configurations.

• Create and implement cloud-native and web applications utilizing Java, object-oriented analysis, reusable design patterns, and various web technologies.

• Construct automation tools for development, deployment, monitoring, and testing processes.

• Develop web-based user interfaces using React or PrimeFaces JSF.

• Architect and manage comprehensive, scalable, innovative, and robust software solutions that align with business requirements.

• Lead the development team in analyzing requirements, breaking them down, and assigning tasks for release.

• Hold regular meetings with the business team to assess and analyze requirements.

• Develop applications for Oracle or PostgreSQL RDBMS and optimize SQL queries that incorporate complex business logic.

• Conduct code reviews, unit testing, functional testing, and manage production deployments.

• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement necessary fixes.

• Identify and address technical debt and quality concerns.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a closely-related IT discipline, along with 7 years of experience as a Software Engineer/Developer implementing and analyzing software solutions; or a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in those fields plus 5 years of experience.

• A minimum of five years of experience in writing, debugging, and optimizing Bash shell scripts.

• Five years of experience with Hibernate, JPA, SQL, and HQL, which includes ORM mapping, query optimization, entity management, and relational database design.

• Five years of experience in designing, building, and consuming SOAP and/or REST APIs.

• Five years of experience with SCRUM and AGILE methodologies.

• Five years of experience with full-stack architecture, pipelines, CI/CD processes, and infrastructure systems.

• Five years of hands-on development in Spring Boot, Web Services, HTML5, and deployments in Unix-like environments using systems-level tools.

• Five years of experience in analyzing user requirements and translating them into software designs and solutions.

• Five years of experience in implementing debugging, analytics, and API development best practices in accordance with SOLID principles.

• Five years of experience with secure coding practices utilizing SSL/TLS PKI or RSA public/private keys.

• Five years of hands-on frontend development experience with React or JQuery.

• Five years of experience using Java to design and implement cloud-native applications and infrastructure leveraging AWS/Azure or Spring Cloud Netflix.

• Five years of experience as a lead developer for a project or team, overseeing development efforts.
