Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to ensure the team delivers secure, reliable, well-tested, and maintainable code.

• Mentor and enhance the skills of team members through code reviews, architectural decisions, and advice on security, privacy, and performance.

• Assist in shaping team direction and priorities, support stakeholders, and effectively break down tasks.

• Act as a recognized technical authority for the areas and components managed by the team.

• Exemplify collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.

• Oversee end-to-end delivery from technical design and architecture to production deployment and support.

• Independently design and implement complex, scalable solutions.

• Advocate for quality and establish processes to enhance it over time.

• Join a product engineering team focused on developing ClickSend’s modern messaging platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 7 years of software engineering experience with a proven history of shipping and maintaining production software.

• Minimum of 3 years of recent, hands-on experience with NodeJS and TypeScript.

• Strong understanding of backend ecosystems, including SQL/NoSQL databases, messaging brokers like SQS and RabbitMQ, and common software design patterns.

• Demonstrated AWS proficiency in ECS/Fargate, Lambda, EC2, DynamoDB/RDS/Aurora, SQS/SNS/Kinesis, and other related core services.

• Practical experience in architecting end-to-end systems, including API design, data models, and infrastructure.

• Experience in designing and managing scalable, resilient, high-performance microservices and event-driven architectures.

• In-depth knowledge of testing methodologies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.

• Hands-on experience in building and maintaining automated test suites integrated into CI/CD processes.

• Experience in developing secure services and implementing best practices for observability and maintainability.

• Active engagement with AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or ChatGPT.

• Enthusiasm for mentoring engineers and effectively communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
