Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain high-quality code for BCycle applications across front-end, back-end, databases, and external APIs.

• Contribute to the architectural design and execution of new features that align with team objectives and business goals.

• Participate in technical system architecture design that fosters scalability and reliability.

• Conduct code reviews and offer feedback to uphold code quality and share knowledge.

• Provide technical mentorship to junior team members.

• Address complex technical challenges and establish technical strategies for new features and projects.

• Engage in scrum ceremonies, including daily standups, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews.

• Collaborate with software engineers, quality assurance, and product teams on feature delivery, testing, and documentation.

• Articulate technical concepts and progress updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Take part in software deployments and on-call rotations.

• Diagnose and resolve production issues.

• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.

• Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance software performance, reliability, and user experience.

• Work on station technology integrations, an administration website, a .NET MAUI mobile application, and GBFS/MDS data feeds.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

• 8-10+ years of experience in software development.

• Proficient in .NET, C#, OOP principles, design patterns, and source control systems (e.g., Git).

• Familiarity with ASP.NET MVC and ORM tools.

• Experience with database technologies (SQL Server, MSSQL).

• Proficient in RESTful APIs using Web API and ASP.NET Core.

• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3.0, Bootstrap, and JavaScript.

• Experience with .NET MAUI and mobile application development is a plus.

• Familiarity with Linux and/or Docker is advantageous.

• Understanding of microservice architecture and cloud-hosted systems.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure is a plus.

• Awareness of the latest security protocol standards, including HTTPS and OAuth2.

• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Experience with agile development methodologies.

• A strong desire for learning and self-improvement.

• Experience in the micromobility, cycling, and/or urban transportation infrastructure sectors is preferred.

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods as needed.

• Capable of maintaining consistent and punctual attendance in line with company policy.

• Occasional repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, or fingers throughout the workday.

• Must possess the ability to talk, listen, and communicate clearly via telephone and video conferencing during the workday.
