Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Create and develop scalable, distributed solutions that enhance the productivity and efficiency of Red Hat engineers.

• Collaborate with open source communities to achieve consensus and implement features in collaborative projects.

• Work alongside Red Hat engineers to pinpoint gaps in productivity and efficiency that can be addressed through tooling.

• Investigate, communicate, and resolve escalated issues faced by the engineering team.

• Manage development, staging, and production environments.

• Oversee monitoring and alerting systems.

• Participate in an on-call rotation during business hours.

• Stay updated on new technologies and maintain knowledge of current trends.

• Conduct code reviews for new features and bug fixes.

• Coach other engineers and guide them in creating outstanding services.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in engineering or higher in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• At least five years of experience in software development.

• Expertise in both object-oriented and functional programming languages.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for collaboration within distributed teams.

• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, JIRA, Red Hat OpenShift, Golang, and Prow.

• Knowledge of cloud-native system design and development.

• Experience in AI-driven software development.

• Solid background in Linux, cloud computing (AWS, GCP), distributed systems, high availability, and build tools.

• Eagerness to learn the aforementioned technologies.

• Proficiency in using AWS or GCP consoles.

• Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts.

• Preferred: experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift container technologies.

• Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure.

• Preferred: capability to work within a globally distributed team.

• Preferred: understanding of Continuous Integration processes.
