Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications and services.

• Independently manage the delivery of complex features, services, or components.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to convert business and user requirements into technical solutions.

• Contribute to system and solution design, architectural decisions, technical trade-offs, and implementation methodologies.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, documentation, testing, and analysis.

• Engage in code reviews to uphold coding standards, quality expectations, and secure development practices.

• Diagnose and resolve software defects, performance challenges, and reliability issues.

• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle.

• Develop and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and other validation methods.

• Implement software design principles, patterns, algorithms, and data structures.

• Enhance development workflows, automation, observability, and engineering productivity.

• Investigate AI and machine learning capabilities and suggest practical applications.

• Provide mentorship to junior engineers through technical guidance and feedback on code reviews.

• Contribute to ongoing improvement, responsible AI use, collaboration, and technical excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in the field.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.

• Occasional travel, up to 5-10%, for key events such as team summits, training sessions, and conferences.

• This role is subject to company on-call policies, which may require working outside regular hours as necessary.

• Additional experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.

• Proficient in one or more programming languages, including TypeScript, Java, C#, Python, or other relevant technology stacks.

• Proven experience in delivering production-grade software and independently managing significant features or technical components.

• Ability to tackle diverse problems, analyze technical issues, and apply sound judgment to determine effective solutions.

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, debugging, documentation, or analysis.

• Capacity to utilize AI tools responsibly, considering security, privacy, reliability, maintainability, and appropriate human oversight.

• Familiarity with version control, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and Agile or Kanban methodologies.

• Strong grasp of software design principles, design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.

• Knowledge of SQL and database concepts; hands-on database experience is preferred.

• Awareness of OWASP threats and mitigation strategies, along with secure coding practices.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic setting with minimal day-to-day supervision.
