Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications and services utilizing modern programming languages.

• Take ownership of the delivery of complex features, services, or components independently.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to convert business and user requirements into technical solutions.

• Contribute to the design of systems and solutions, addressing architecture, technical trade-offs, and implementation strategies.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, documentation, testing, and analysis.

• Engage in code reviews to uphold coding quality and secure development standards.

• Diagnose and resolve software defects, performance challenges, and reliability issues.

• Participate throughout the entire software development lifecycle from requirements and design to implementation, testing, release, and support.

• Create and uphold unit tests, integration tests, and other validation methodologies.

• Implement software design principles, patterns, algorithms, and data structures.

• Enhance development workflows, automation, observability, and overall engineering efficiency.

• Investigate AI, machine learning, and emerging technologies while recommending practical applications.

• Mentor junior engineers by providing technical guidance and feedback during code reviews.

• Contribute to initiatives for continuous improvement, responsible AI usage, collaboration, and technical excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.

• Additional experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.

• Occasional travel, up to 5-10%, for significant events such as team summits, training sessions, and conferences.

• This position is subject to the company's on-call policies, including working hours outside the normal workday as necessary.

• Proficient in one or more programming languages such as TypeScript, Java, C#, Python, or other relevant technology stacks.

• Experience in delivering production-grade software and independently managing substantial features or technical components.

• Capability to tackle diverse problems, analyze technical challenges, and apply sound judgment to devise effective solutions.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, debugging, documentation, or analysis.

• Ability to utilize AI tools responsibly, considering security, privacy, reliability, maintainability, and appropriate human oversight.

• Experience with version control, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and Agile or Kanban methodologies.

• Strong comprehension of software design principles, design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.

• Knowledge of SQL and database concepts is preferred; hands-on database experience is a plus.

• Understanding of OWASP threats and mitigation techniques along with secure coding practices.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal day-to-day supervision.
