This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the design, architecture, and development of applications based on Java and PL/SQL.
• Implement and enhance business logic utilizing PL/SQL packages, procedures, and triggers in conjunction with Pension’s proprietary tools.
• Convert functional requirements into durable, scalable technical designs and specifications.
• Enhance performance, scalability, and data integrity throughout the application stack.
• Conduct code reviews, resolve complex issues, and offer technical guidance to developers.
• Execute unit testing and ensure outputs adhere to quality and security standards.
• Collaborate with project teams to outline scope, timelines, and deliverables.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to team members to foster best practices and technical proficiency.
• Advocate for new technologies, automation, and DevOps methodologies.
• Establish and uphold application security, data protection, and coding standards.
• Document software architecture, processes, and solutions meticulously.
• Contribute to client implementation projects through technical leadership and consulting expertise.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in software development, encompassing system design and architecture.
• Advanced proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and Java.
• Strong comprehension of relational database design, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Familiarity with Oracle APEX, Git, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and UNIX Bash scripting.
• Experience with databases, data conversion, reporting tools, API integration, and application design.
• Demonstrated ability to lead development teams and mentor junior staff members.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with pension plan concepts is a valuable asset.
• Previous experience in the pension or financial services industry is advantageous.
• Ability to remain seated for prolonged periods.
• Regular use of computers and other office equipment.
• Occasional movement within the office environment.
• Frequent communication via telephone.
