This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide engineering expertise in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of IT solutions.
• Develop, sustain, and enhance computer applications, software, and utility programs for system modernization.
• Analyze information, user requirements, software specifications, design feasibility, and system capabilities.
• Create program documentation and code comments.
• Collaborate with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, customers, and engineering personnel on application design, interfaces, requirements, and maintenance.
• Establish software testing, validation, programming, and documentation procedures.
• Modify and maintain software to rectify errors, adapt to hardware, upgrade interfaces, and enhance performance.
• Conduct integrated quality assurance testing for security functionality and resilience.
• Implement cybersecurity measures including encryption, access control, and identity management.
• Utilize enterprise-wide version control to design and create secure applications.
• Debug software employing standard debugging methodologies.
• Assist application teams in standardizing systems, development tools, and security patches.
• Develop programs that validate and process command-line arguments, environmental variables, and input streams.
• Create error, exception, fault-handling, and logging capabilities.
• Write code using supported programming languages, object-oriented design, networking concepts, protocols, and network security practices.
• Produce documentation adhering to Agile best practices and organizational policies.
• Facilitate tool standardization, CI/CD pipelines, and architecture views in accordance with Navy security standards.
• Automate builds, testing, and deployments while maintaining security and quality standards.
• Establish artifact management practices for libraries, dependencies, and builds.
• Provide support during production outages and release packages.
• Create and update work items in designated tools.
• Participate in internal review processes and change boards.
• Conduct quality audits of NAVSUP products, investigate errors, and propose corrective measures.
• Proficiency in Java 8 or higher, JavaScript, JQuery, XML, XML Schema, SQL, Oracle databases, .NET, and C#.
• Mandatory IAM Level I certification (CompTIA Security+).
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as engineering or computer science.
• A bachelor's degree may be replaced with 2 years of college education and 3–5 years of relevant work experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of college/technical knowledge and 5 years of professional experience in modern software development.
• At least 2 years of college/technical knowledge and 5 years of experience with Azure DevOps, Microsoft O365 and Teams, Excel, Visio, and Outlook.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience with agile principles and participation in agile teams.
• At least 5 years of knowledge and experience in one or more of the specified technology areas, including C#/.NET, PowerShell, web technologies, service-based architectures, SOAP, EDI/XML, WebLogic, secure FTP, web application development, Oracle, Kubernetes, and OCI Containers.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of security tools and techniques.
• Capability to write automation scripts using Bash or PowerShell.
• Minimum of 3 years of knowledge and experience with cloud-native architectures and Infrastructure as Code.
• At least 1 year of experience in a PaaS environment such as Appian or Salesforce.
• Strong analytical abilities to evaluate security risks and vulnerabilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with development, security, and operations teams.
• Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong comprehension of security principles and best practices.
• Experience in government and DoD environments is preferred.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and fingers.
• Ability to engage in and follow audible communications during emergency situations.
