Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee backend development and manage server-side logic.

• Take full ownership of services from deployment to operation and production health.

• Enhance and maintain production environments in collaboration with CloudEng.

• Set up monitoring and alerting systems using tools like OpenTelemetry, Sentry, Prometheus, and Grafana.

• Engage in on-call and off-hours support rotations.

• Diagnose and resolve production issues, investigate incidents, manage bug reports, and ensure reliability.

• Participate in support tasks including releases, dependency updates, and responding to stakeholder requests.

• Thoughtfully utilize AI-assisted development tools.

• Collaborate with frontend, platform, CloudEng, product, UX, design, and support teams.

• Contribute to API design, ensuring backend systems, APIs, and data contracts align with stakeholder requirements.

• Take part in code reviews and security/privacy evaluations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of software development experience with a focus on backend technologies.

• Strong professional background in Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or Rust for backend services.

• Experience in leading backend engineering projects.

• Proficiency in PostgreSQL and optimization of SQL queries.

• Expertise in relational schema design and migrations using a query builder like Knex.

• Practical DevOps experience on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Familiarity with Docker-based build and deployment pipelines.

• Knowledge in deploying, managing, and troubleshooting cloud services.

• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Sentry and Grafana.

• Proven ownership of services in production, including experience with on-call or off-hours support.

• Experience mentoring junior engineers.

• Track record of driving technical excellence in code quality, testing, and process enhancements.
