Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop high-quality code for intricate scenarios while ensuring robust test coverage.

• Analyze and convert product requirements into solid design frameworks.

• Create distributed application systems that are modular, configurable, reusable, efficient, user-friendly, secure, compliant, scalable, and maintainable.

• Oversee design and code reviews across multiple applications.

• Guide the sprint team in delivering new or enhanced features.

• Resolve obstacles to delivering high-quality solutions in the sprint backlog.

• Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of desired functionality.

• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to fellow engineers on the team.

• Cultivate a culture of innovation and excellence within the Mercury engineering team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.

• Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

• Minimum: 5+ years of software programming experience.

• 2+ years of experience with technologies utilized at Mercury.

• 1+ years of experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams.

• Proficient in programming with one or more industry-standard languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, C++, JavaScript).

• Experienced in utilizing various data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.

• Skilled in relational databases, NoSQL, and caching solutions.

• Familiar with APIs using modern protocols such as REST and gRPC.

• Proficient in message queuing, data streaming, workflow, and integration frameworks (like Apache Kafka, Apache NiFi, Amazon SQS, MS MQ, Apache Camel, etc.).

• Knowledgeable in microservices architecture.

• Experienced with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Capable of utilizing DevSecOps to enhance engineering efficiency.

• Experienced in designing and implementing high-quality distributed application systems.

• Skilled at leveraging analytics data and experimentation to design and enhance systems.

• Strong problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Strong ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

• Proven leadership skills through mentoring and providing technical guidance to team members.

• Experienced in driving the technical strategy and vision for a team.
