Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop high-quality code for intricate scenarios, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.

• Assess and convert product requirements into solid designs for high-quality distributed application systems.

• Facilitate design and code reviews across multiple applications.

• Guarantee compliance with best practices and Mercury standards.

• Lead sprint teams to rollout new or enhanced features.

• Resolve obstacles to delivering high-quality solutions within the sprint backlog.

• Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to confirm successful delivery of desired functionality.

• Mentor and offer technical support to fellow engineers.

• Promote a culture of innovation and excellence within Mercury engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields OR a comparable combination of education and experience.

• Over 5 years of software programming experience.

• More than 2 years of experience with technologies utilized at Mercury.

• At least 1 year of experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams.

• Proficiency in one or more standard programming languages, including Java, Python, Go, C++, or JavaScript.

• Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, design patterns, relational databases, NoSQL, and caching solutions.

• Experience with REST and gRPC APIs.

• Expertise in message queuing, data streaming, workflow, and integration frameworks.

• Understanding of microservices architecture.

• Proficient in Docker and Kubernetes.

• Knowledgeable in DevSecOps practices.

• Experience in designing and implementing distributed application systems.

• Strong problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Proven leadership in mentoring and providing technical guidance.

• Experience in shaping technical strategy and vision for a team.

• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Science.

• Preferred: 5 or more years of backend development experience with Java and Python.

• Preferred: 4 or more years utilizing AWS technologies such as Lambda, CloudWatch, and S3.

• Preferred: 3 or more years of experience with Cassandra, DynamoDB, or MongoDB.

• Preferred: 1 or more years working with generative AI or Machine Learning.

• Preferred: 1 or more years with front-end technologies such as React.

• Preferred: Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
