Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain intricate software systems.

• Write high-quality code for complex scenarios, ensuring robust test coverage.

• Review and convert product requirements into solid design implementations.

• Create distributed application systems that are modular, configurable, reusable, efficient, user-friendly, secure, compliant, scalable, and easy to maintain.

• Lead design and code review sessions for multiple applications.

• Ensure compliance with best practices and Mercury's standards.

• Guide sprint teams in delivering new or enhanced features.

• Tackle obstacles to delivering high-quality solutions within the sprint backlog.

• Work collaboratively with other teams and stakeholders to guarantee successful functionality delivery.

• Mentor and provide technical support to fellow engineers.

• Promote a culture of innovation and excellence within the Mercury engineering team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in software programming.

• At least 2 years of experience with technologies utilized at Mercury.

• More than 1 year of experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams.

• Proficient in one or more industry-standard programming languages, such as Java, Python, Go, C++, or JavaScript.

• Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.

• Experience with relational databases, NoSQL, and caching mechanisms.

• Knowledge of REST and gRPC APIs.

• Expertise in message queuing, data streaming, workflow, and integration frameworks.

• Understanding of microservices architecture.

• Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Skilled in DevSecOps practices.

• Experience in designing and implementing distributed application systems.

• Ability to leverage analytics data and conduct experimentation.

• Strong problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

• Proven leadership abilities through mentoring and providing technical guidance.

• Experience in driving technical strategy and vision for a team.

• Preferred: Master's Degree in Computer Science.

• Preferred: 5 or more years of backend development experience with Java and Python.

• Preferred: 5 or more years of experience with AWS technologies such as Lambda, CloudWatch, and S3.

• Preferred: 3 or more years of experience with Cassandra, DynamoDB, or MongoDB.

• Preferred: Exposure to Contact Center technologies like Amazon Connect.

• Preferred: Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
