Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design of supply chain and logistics software for a federal health client.

• Create and develop intricate components of a federal supply chain platform.

• Collaborate directly with client stakeholders and delivery teams.

• Establish coding and design standards and evaluate work against these benchmarks.

• Decompose large specifications into manageable tasks that the team can deliver incrementally.

• Take responsibility for technical decisions and the documentation that articulates them.

• Guide engineers and elevate the engineering standards across the team.

• Remain closely involved with implementation to ensure that the technical direction is aligned with the build.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and over 15 years of professional experience in software development.

• Proven ownership of the technical direction for a system or product line.

• In-depth expertise in one backend programming language and its ecosystem, evidenced by production systems you have designed and fully delivered, rather than merely contributed to.

• Experience in API and service design that connects legacy systems to contemporary services, with a focus on versioning and backward compatibility.

• Proficiency in building and deploying containerized services on Kubernetes or OpenShift through a DevSecOps pipeline, including automated security scanning prior to release.

• Commitment to developing in accordance with Section 508 accessibility standards, rather than treating it as a post-release remediation task.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation (Public Trust).

• Candidates must be U.S. Citizens.

• Candidates must have resided in the United States for at least 3 years due to background investigation requirements.

• Selected candidates will undergo a Security Investigation and may need to fulfill criteria for access to Protected and/or Classified Information.

• Preferred: Experience with federal health IT programs.

• Preferred: Background in supply chain, logistics, inventory, or asset management systems.

• Preferred: Experience in cloud-native development and transitioning legacy applications to a federal cloud environment.

• Preferred: Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, or DICOM.

• Preferred: Experience in data migration from legacy systems, including mapping, transformation, and validation.

• Preferred: Experience in SAFe at scale, including Program Increment planning.

• Preferred: Knowledge of federal IT governance and approved tooling processes.
