Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop secure, innovative solutions that support essential missions.

• Collaborate with technical leaders, business stakeholders, and a diverse team.

• Contribute to the technical strategy within a mission-oriented, customer-centric environment supporting the U.S. Navy.

• Create software using Java, JavaScript, and various scripting languages.

• Design data models and web APIs.

• Generate software tasks based on system requirements.

• Conduct requirements analysis, design, development, unit testing, and integration testing.

• Troubleshoot and debug systems and web applications.

• Improve and maintain the existing system.

• Design, develop, and document new features.

• Utilize Atlassian tools for daily Scrum tasks.

• Implement web services, data persistence access features, and external interfaces.

• Adhere to Agile software development methodology and team architecture standards.

• Build and modify CI/CD pipelines in AWS Cloud environments.

• Manage deployments and maintenance as needs and requirements evolve.

• Convert Confluence product requirements into structured Jira user stories.

• Deliver Java microservices deployed on AWS infrastructure.

• Diagnose server and production issues, implementing cybersecurity solutions.

• Mentor junior software engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of software development experience.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• United States Citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.

• Must reside within the continental United States.

• Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Secret security clearance.

• 2+ years of experience with AWS Cloud is required.

• Professional experience with the Java Spring Framework (Boot, Batch, Data, Security).

• Software development experience with Java, JavaScript, React, jQuery, HTML, CSS, and other Object-Oriented Programming languages.

• Familiarity with architecture and CI/CD environments, including Docker, Ansible, and Jenkins.

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and Perl on Linux servers or environments.

• AWS Cloud experience with the capability to deliver a system end to end.

• Experience with Git and/or Bitbucket.

• Proven experience in developing and integrating complex software systems through the entire SDLC.

• Experience utilizing Confluence and Jira in an AWS cloud environment.

• Familiarity with Agile Scrum.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Active Secret security clearance is preferred.

• Additional front-end development experience with CSS, HTML, jQuery, JavaScript, and React is preferred.

• Experience with Docker, Ansible, and Jenkins is preferred.

• Mobile development experience with iOS and Android is a bonus.
