Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and uphold production-grade full-stack SaaS and white-label software solutions.

• Create responsive applications utilizing Vue 3 and Nuxt in SPA mode.

• Build asynchronous Python services using FastAPI or similar frameworks.

• Oversee architectural design and make technical trade-off choices for scalable and efficient solutions.

• Serve as the technical counterpart to the Project Manager.

• Convert requirements into technical strategies and break projects into attainable milestones.

• Participate in sprint and quarterly planning, estimating efforts and pinpointing dependencies, risks, and capacity constraints.

• Define project scope and maintain coherent delivery plans among engineers.

• Facilitate technical discussions and conduct code reviews.

• Mentor engineers and serve as a primary contact for technical challenges.

• Establish technical direction and support engineer performance and well-being.

• Ensure system security, performance, reliability, and maintainability.

• Develop and uphold CI/CD workflows that include linting, testing, type checking, and deployment upon merging.

• Manage AWS infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or comparable tools.

• Lead investigations into incidents and resolutions, identifying root causes and implementing enhancements.

• Acquire knowledge about agri-food sectors, customer profiles, and workflows.

• Recognize technical challenges and opportunities, taking ownership of improvement initiatives.

• Contribute to technology and innovation initiatives and support Data Science research and development.

• Align technical choices with business goals and aid in product and technology roadmap planning.

• Transform customer feedback into secure, scalable, and user-friendly solutions.

• Represent YAGRO’s technical capabilities to customers during calls or demonstrations.

• Clarify technical decisions and limitations while managing feasibility and timeline challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong technical knowledge and demonstrated experience in delivery planning and line management.

• Significant experience in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise SaaS and white-label technology solutions across the full stack.

• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, and raw SQL with PostgreSQL, excluding ORM.

• Experience with Vue 3 and Nuxt in SPA mode.

• Experience in developing asynchronous Python services using FastAPI or similar frameworks.

• Understanding of software design principles, databases, web frameworks, and distributed data processing.

• Experience in evaluating AWS Lambda processing pipelines, including cold starts, container sizing, retries, and error management.

• Familiarity with AWS services such as container-based Lambda, RDS, S3, and Lightsail.

• Experience in managing infrastructure via Terraform or similar tools.

• Experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions or equivalent tools.

• Competence in linting, testing, type checking, and deployment upon merging.

• Experience with security, performance, reliability, maintainability, and thorough testing.

• Proven experience leading incident investigations and resolutions.

• Experience contributing to sprint and quarterly planning, effort estimation, dependency identification, and capacity assessment.

• Experience in mentoring engineers, providing structured feedback, and addressing performance or well-being issues.

• Ability to translate requirements into technical strategies and multi-month initiatives into milestones.

• Capability to communicate technical decisions to both technical and non-technical colleagues and clients.

• Ability to collaborate closely with Product, Project Management, Business Development, and Data Science teams.
