Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and uphold production-quality software across the entire stack.

• Create responsive applications utilizing Vue 3 and Nuxt in SPA mode.

• Build asynchronous Python services using FastAPI or similar frameworks.

• Oversee architectural design and make informed technical trade-off decisions.

• Tackle new features, intricate technical challenges, and scalability issues across products.

• Serve as a technical counterpart to the Project Manager, translating requirements into actionable technical plans.

• Break down extensive initiatives into manageable milestones.

• Participate in sprint and quarterly planning, including estimation, dependency analysis, capacity evaluation, and risk identification.

• Define project scope and maintain coherent delivery schedules.

• Lead technical discussions and conduct code reviews.

• Mentor engineers and assist colleagues with technical challenges.

• Establish technical direction and address performance or well-being concerns.

• Take ownership of the security, performance, reliability, and maintainability of developed systems.

• Advocate for testing and ensure adequate coverage.

• Maintain technical documentation and exemplify sound engineering practices.

• Develop and sustain CI/CD workflows that include linting, testing, type checking, and deployment upon merging.

• Collaborate with AWS services and manage infrastructure using Terraform or equivalent tools.

• Lead incident investigations and resolutions while implementing preventive improvements.

• Identify technical challenges and opportunities and take ownership of improvement initiatives.

• Keep abreast of advancements in technology and engineering practices, sharing knowledge with others.

• Contribute to technological and innovative ideas.

• Support Data Science research and development in operationalizing solutions.

• Align technical decisions with business objectives and contribute to roadmap planning.

• Collaborate with Product, Project Management, Business Development, and other colleagues.

• Transform customer feedback into secure, scalable, and user-friendly solutions.

• Represent YAGRO’s technical capabilities to customers during discussions or demonstrations.

• Build collaborative relationships and provide insights on product development.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in delivery planning and line management.

• Strong technical proficiency in full-stack software engineering.

• Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise SaaS and white-label technology solutions.

• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, and raw SQL against PostgreSQL without using an ORM.

• Experience with Vue 3 and Nuxt in SPA mode.

• Familiarity with asynchronous Python services using FastAPI or similar frameworks.

• Knowledge of software design principles, databases, web frameworks, and distributed data processing.

• Experience assessing AWS Lambda processing pipelines, including cold starts, container sizing, retries, and error handling.

• Experience with sprint and quarterly planning, effort estimation, dependency identification, capacity assessment, and risk management.

• Experience leading technical discussions and conducting code reviews.

• Experience mentoring engineers and providing structured feedback.

• Knowledge of security, performance, reliability, maintainability, and rigorous testing practices.

• Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions or similar tools.

• Familiarity with AWS services including container-based Lambda, RDS, S3, and Lightsail.

• Experience managing infrastructure through Terraform or equivalent tools.

• Experience leading incident investigations and resolutions.

• Ability to understand the agri-food sectors, customer profiles, and workflows.

• Ability to clearly communicate technical capabilities and decisions to customers in understandable terms.
