Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and create backend services that support residential battery initiatives.

• Uphold a robust security framework throughout the infrastructure.

• Develop and sustain features within the battery solution.

• Create and manage the client-facing REST API along with its underlying backend logic.

• Establish integrations with various distributed internal services.

• Ensure the implementation of security and data protection policies, procedures, and monitoring.

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to enhance requirements and improve software quality.

• Facilitate new API features and assist teams in utilizing utility client data.

• Promote and model the “Dev Owns Quality” culture.

• Produce and update technical documentation.

• Execute additional tasks as assigned.

• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, battery providers, OEMs, and other stakeholders on highly visible projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Proficiency in the Java/Spring ecosystem.

• Strong expertise in RESTful web APIs, particularly those aimed at external clients.

• Excellent software design capabilities.

• Understanding of relational database principles, especially PostgreSQL.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage multiple use cases.

• Familiarity with contemporary security best practices, authentication/authorization frameworks, and system/API hardening techniques.

• Knowledge of software development best practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, and monitoring.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

• Preferred: Experience with Python.

• Preferred: Familiarity with AWS or other cloud service providers.

• Preferred: Experience in microservice architectures and event-driven messaging systems.

• Preferred: Knowledge of React and other web technologies.

• Preferred: Experience with protocol buffers and gRPC.

• Preferred: Familiarity with containerized systems.

• Preferred: Experience with MongoDB.
