Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and implement key components of Credibly's lending origination, servicing, and reporting systems.

• Participate actively in a development team, attend stand-up meetings, and maintain significant overlap with Eastern Time, with a minimum overlap from 9am to 1pm ET.

• Collaborate with engineering, product, data science, and business stakeholders to develop and implement solutions that support online lending and servicing.

• Take the lead in designing and developing new software products as well as major enhancements for clients and business partners.

• Analyze, evaluate, and review code for database and software solutions hosted on an AWS enterprise platform.

• Utilize generative AI tools and large language models (LLMs) to expedite development, boost productivity, and create innovative product features.

• Mentor and guide junior team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience building and managing production Python services, including ownership from deployment through monitoring and handling production incidents.

• More than 5 years of experience designing and utilizing REST APIs within a microservices architecture, demonstrating clear reasoning regarding service boundaries, versioning, and backward compatibility.

• Hands-on experience with AWS technologies, including ECS/EKS or Lambda, SQS/SNS, S3, and CloudWatch or equivalent observability tools.

• Proficient in relational data modeling and query optimization in MySQL.

• Practical experience in designing access patterns for DynamoDB.

• Automated testing experience using pytest or similar frameworks.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, incremental rollouts, and troubleshooting on Linux.

• Proven technical leadership skills, including leading a multi-engineer project from start to finish, authoring designs, reviewing work, and developing less experienced engineers.

• Experience with event-driven and asynchronous architectures, using Airflow or similar orchestration tools.

• Proficient in FastAPI and SQLAlchemy ORM.

• Experience with Docker and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Familiarity with React or another modern frontend framework.

• Experience in building applications with LLMs and generative AI, including prompt design, evaluation, RAG or agentic workflows, and collaborating effectively with AI coding agents.

• Experience in financial services applications and regulated data, particularly in lending or payments.

• Understanding of web application security practices, including authentication/authorization, OWASP fundamentals, and secret management.
