Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain production software.

• Implement SOLID design principles throughout the build, review, and testing phases.

• Utilize AI tools for generating specifications, coding, and conducting code reviews.

• Engage in discussions regarding system architecture and apply established design patterns.

• Create systems that are highly available, resilient, performant, and secure.

• Participate in code reviews to ensure alignment with specifications.

• Work collaboratively with product teams and stakeholders on AI-driven product development, scope, and business value.

• Employ AI tools to quickly learn new languages, frameworks, and platforms.

• Produce and enhance technical documentation.

• Recognize and address technical debt.

• Take part in technical refinements, breaking down epics and user stories into actionable tasks targeting narrow vertical slices.

• Act as a technical leader and mentor across the engineering team.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity, demonstrating high agency and systems thinking; possesses business acumen and product judgment.

• Apply SOLID design principles, adhere to the Engineering Playbook, utilize CI/CD best practices, and engage in specification-driven development.

• Leverage AI tools throughout the entire development lifecycle, applying critical judgment to assess and take ownership of AI-generated outputs.

• Proficient in the organization's languages, frameworks, databases, version control systems, CI/CD processes, containerization, and cloud platforms.

• Implement mature design patterns and service-based architectures ensuring high availability, resilience, performance, and security.

• Clearly communicate and effectively collaborate with stakeholders regarding scope, approaches, and business value.

• Use AI to expedite learning and to create/maintain technical documentation.

• Hold a M.S. or B.S. in Computer Science or a related STEM discipline.

• Possess over 8 years of demonstrated experience at the Senior Software Engineer level.

• Preferred experience with programming languages and application frameworks such as JavaScript, Java, Salesforce/Apex, and Node.js.

• Preferred experience with AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, and Jenkins/GitHub Actions.

• Preferred experience with RESTful API design, service-based architectures, and data modeling.
