Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Engage in lower-priority engineering tasks, such as compliance, engineering maintenance, cost reduction, observability, experiment clean-up, and operational tooling.

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable, efficient, and robust software systems.

• Contribute to the architecture and technical design of systems.

• Validate solutions through data analysis and experimentation when applicable.

• Take part in code and design reviews.

• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers.

• Clarify specifications and execute mid-level design activities.

• Concentrate on coding, testing, and documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional experience in backend-focused software development.

• Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.

• Experience with MongoDB Atlas or a similar modern NoSQL database.

• Knowledge of Aurora MySQL on AWS or an equivalent relational database.

• Familiarity with cloud-native distributed systems on AWS.

• Experience with Spring Boot.

• Development of GraphQL APIs (Netflix DGS).

• Proven track record in building and managing large-scale, high-performance, resilient systems.

• Excellent English communication and teamwork skills.

• Nice to have: experience with event-driven system development using Kafka and/or SQS.

• Nice to have: experience with AI-assisted coding.

• Nice to have: knowledge of Terraform.

• Nice to have: familiarity with microservices.

• Nice to have: experience in gRPC and REST API development.
