Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services, microservices, and REST APIs that support cyber training and range capabilities.

• Create software utilizing TypeScript, Go, Python, or comparable technologies.

• Construct and provide support for applications deployed in Kubernetes-based environments.

• Integrate software with virtualized and cloud infrastructures, including AWS or similar platforms.

• Develop and sustain infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code technologies like Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi.

• Diagnose and resolve application, infrastructure, integration, and deployment issues within distributed environments.

• Create and uphold automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.

• Work collaboratively with software engineering, DevOps/DevSecOps, infrastructure, networking, and cyber teams.

• Contribute to PCTE, RangeOS, and associated Joint Cyber Warfighting Architecture initiatives.

• Engage in technical planning, design discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement efforts.

• Offer technical or project leadership as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance.

• Over 5 years of professional software development experience.

• Strong background in building backend applications, services, or REST APIs.

• Proficient in at least one or two programming languages.

• Experience with Kubernetes or similar container orchestration technologies.

• Familiarity with containerized applications using technologies such as Docker.

• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience working collaboratively in modern software development, Agile, DevOps, or DevSecOps settings.

• Knowledge of one or more of the following: TypeScript, Go, REST APIs, distributed backend services, Kubernetes, virtualization, cloud platforms, Infrastructure-as-Code, frontend technologies, automated testing, networking, DevOps/DevSecOps, cyber ranges, technical leadership, PCTE, RangeOS, JCWA, USCYBERCOM missions, Kubernetes APIs, client-go, custom controllers, or Kubernetes operators.
