Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services, microservices, and REST APIs that support cyber training and range capabilities.

• Create software utilizing TypeScript, Go, Python, or other similar programming languages.

• Build and maintain applications that operate within Kubernetes-based environments.

• Integrate software with virtualized and cloud infrastructures, including AWS or other comparable platforms.

• Develop and sustain infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi.

• Troubleshoot and debug issues related to applications, infrastructure, integration, and deployment across distributed environments.

• Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

• Collaborate with software engineering, DevOps/DevSecOps, infrastructure, networking, and cyber teams.

• Contribute to PCTE, RangeOS, and related Joint Cyber Warfighting Architecture initiatives.

• Engage in technical planning, design discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement efforts.

• Provide technical or project leadership as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software development.

• Possession of an active TS/SCI clearance.

• Proficiency in TypeScript and/or Go (Golang) development is highly regarded.

• Experience in designing and implementing REST APIs and distributed backend services is highly regarded.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, virtualization, cloud platforms, Infrastructure-as-Code, frontend technologies, automated testing, networking, DevOps/DevSecOps, or cyber ranges is highly valued.

• Strong experience in backend application, service, or REST API development.

• High proficiency in at least one or two programming languages.

• Experience with Kubernetes or similar container orchestration technologies.

• Knowledge of containerized applications such as Docker.

• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience working collaboratively within contemporary software development, Agile, DevOps, or DevSecOps environments.
