Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Participate in the design and execution of highly available, scalable, and efficient solutions.

• Construct, integrate, support, and enhance data streaming services on the Akamai Platform, emphasizing the collection and analysis of performance metrics.

• Create and develop DevOps tools to ensure the seamless operation of the software delivery system.

• Establish processes and tools to monitor, analyze, maintain, and enhance the usability and observability of streaming data pipelines.

• Formulate and implement procedures for automating operational tasks to achieve zero human intervention.

• Improve core services of the platform for a data streaming environment aimed at 100% availability and three 9's performance and reliability.

• Collaborate with software and platform engineers within the Data Engineering team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent qualification.

• Proficiency in SQL and software development with at least two of the following languages: Golang, Python, Java, C/C++, or JavaScript.

• Over 5 years of experience with distributed systems, Linux networking, TCP/IP, SSH, SSL, and HTTP protocols.

• More than 3 years of experience in DevOps practices and CI/CD tools, including Jenkins, Helm, Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet.

• At least 3 years of experience with observability, performance analytics, and security tools such as Prometheus and DataDog.

• Familiarity with big data platforms like Hadoop and Spark, as well as their design principles.

• Proficient in bash scripting, SQL, and REST API design.

• Capable of troubleshooting complex production issues.
