Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Design and implement backend compute services and APIs for managing ARM64 and x86_64 instances.

• Enhance platform capabilities, resource orchestration tools, and APIs for cloud compute provisioning.

• Provide production support and troubleshoot complex issues impacting low-level compute systems.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ARM server hardware and address technical performance challenges.

• Optimize compute platform performance, feature enhancements, multi-core scalability, and service dependability.

• Contribute to the core compute platform infrastructure and APIs that drive instance orchestration throughout the Akamai Connected Cloud.

• Work alongside QEMU, Linux systems, and hardware teams to advance native ARM and x86 compute solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Comprehensive experience with the complete software development life cycle, including code reviews, release management, and post-release support.

• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, C/C++, or Rust.

• Familiarity with cloud compute virtualization technologies such as KVM and QEMU.

• Experience with container runtimes, Linux system APIs, and hypervisor integration.

• Proficient in web application development, microservices, micro-orchestration, RESTful APIs, and database design patterns.

• Exceptional debugging, profiling, and troubleshooting abilities across distributed Linux systems and database environments.
