Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete software lifecycle from requirements gathering and system design to planning, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

• Sustain and enhance mission-critical Linux-based applications in both on-premises and AWS environments.

• Lead ongoing support and develop the design/roadmap for phased modernization, which includes research, requirements gathering, architecture, design, and rollout.

• Explore and gain expertise in specialized legacy systems, such as Apache NiFi.

• Manage Python/Django/PostgreSQL and PHP/MySQL application stacks.

• Oversee cloud-hybrid environments that incorporate on-premises virtual servers and AWS Kubernetes.

• Design and execute cross-application integrations utilizing REST, SOAP, SFTP, HL7, and FHIR.

• Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews, and offer daily development support to the core platform engineering team.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, customers, and external partners to convert business needs into technical solutions.

• Propel engineering objectives and KPIs related to product delivery, team performance, software quality, and system security.

• Advocate for clean, maintainable code, refactoring, technical debt management, and engineering best practices.

• Promote DevOps and CI/CD practices, including feature toggles, automated testing, observability, and regular deployments.

• Investigate and rectify authentication failures, data mapping issues, and data ingestion anomalies.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools while ensuring code quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of full-stack software engineering experience.

• Proficient in hands-on Python development with Django or a similar framework.

• PHP/Laravel experience is highly advantageous.

• Experience in planning multi-phase modernization of critical legacy systems.

• Familiarity with React or Vue.

• Experience with relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL and scalable cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS.

• Practical experience in designing and troubleshooting REST and SOAP API integrations, including flat-file and SFTP-based exchanges.

• Understanding of secure authentication and authorization standards, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and SAML.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code reviews, and contemporary DevOps practices.

• Capability to set technical direction and drive performance against team KPIs.

• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills; self-driven and effective working independently in a remote-first setting.

• Experience with data integration and ETL tools such as Apache NiFi, Snowflake, or AWS S3 is a plus.

• Familiarity with healthcare data formats (HL7, FHIR, X12), EMR systems and APIs, C#/.NET, or Java experience is an added bonus.
