Senior Software Engineer – APIs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +15 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with product development and engineering teams to convert business initiatives into technical specifications.

• Create both customer-facing and internal APIs to enable rapid querying of extensive datasets.

• Develop applications that provide necessary functionality while adhering to development and testing best practices.

• Implement unit, integration, and runtime tests.

• Design and manage the expansive Snowflake data lake that supports the APIs.

• Design database tables and craft efficient SQL queries to ensure quick API response times.

• Produce internal and external documentation, including materials for customer onboarding.

• Generate data, metrics, and visualizations for the validation and enhancement of algorithms.

• Supervise the complete application lifecycle from requirement gathering to production deployment.

• Participate in the on-call rotation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Java 8 or higher software development, specifically using the Java Spring Framework for REST APIs.

• Strong SQL database skills, encompassing database creation and design, table design, automated loading and maintenance processes, and efficient querying.

• Experience with Snowflake SQL is highly preferred.

• Proficient in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and familiar with AWS services like Amazon Elastic Container Service and AWS X-Ray.

• Skilled in efficiently processing data in JSON and GeoJSON formats.

• Proficiency in Scala, Python, or comparable programming languages.

• Experience in translating business challenges into technological solutions.

• Proven track record in developing multiple applications from requirement specification to production delivery.

• Familiarity with generative AI for code creation, unit testing, and debugging while observing security and data privacy protocols.

• Capability to decompose larger projects into smaller tasks and manage several projects simultaneously.

• Background in software or engineering projects from concept through development and production.

• Proficient in Agile methodologies.

• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

• Fluent in English.

• Capacity to partake in the on-call rotation.
