This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Utilize agentic AI throughout the software development lifecycle for essential projects at the United States Postal Service.
• Operate within a distinctive environment and technology stack.
• Introduce new features and enhance the reliability of fundamental services.
• Assist with customer intake, application evaluation, and the flow of information in read/write paths.
• Recognize system bottlenecks and flaws within business logic.
• Collaborate with the team to resolve technical challenges.
• Take ownership of product issues and develop effective solutions.
• Leverage data to illustrate the impact of solutions.
• Work independently across the technology stack.
• Mentor junior developers and foster technical growth within the team.
• Effectively communicate technical decisions and trade-offs.
• Participate in modernization initiatives, architectural discussions, and system design.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Over 4 years of practical experience in AI software development.
• Proven history of delivering impactful, production-ready software solutions with varying degrees of complexity.
• Experience in designing and implementing components for distributed systems, including storage, caching, and application layers.
• Practical experience with microservice architectures and exposure to high-throughput systems.
• Familiarity with system transformation patterns and modernization efforts.
• Strong proficiency in Java programming.
• Understanding of cloud engineering paradigms, asynchronous systems, and service integration patterns.
• Working knowledge of design patterns, reliability, and scaling principles.
• Capacity to contribute to architectural discussions and system design.
• Demonstrated ownership of identifying problems and formulating solutions.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to team members and stakeholders.
• Experience in mentoring peers or junior developers.
• Willingness to advocate for sound engineering practices.
• Proven ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies.
• Demonstrated use of AI and automation tools to improve productivity and engineering outcomes.
• Comfort with ambiguity and new problem domains.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Must successfully complete a government background screening process, which includes detailed forms and fingerprinting.
• U.S. residency requirement: selected candidates must have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territories for the required timeframe; citizens must not have been absent for longer than six consecutive months in the last three years, and non-U.S. citizens must not have been absent for over 90 consecutive days in the last three years.
