Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement AI and Generative AI applications utilizing cloud-native services and contemporary software engineering methodologies.

• Construct and uphold AI-driven solutions employing AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex AI, large language models, and machine learning frameworks.

• Create Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems that encompass document ingestion, vector search, embeddings, and retrieval pipelines.

• Generate, test, and refine prompts, workflows, and agentic AI solutions.

• Develop APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations to ensure scalable and secure AI functionalities.

• Work collaboratively with product managers, engineers, data teams, security teams, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver AI functionalities.

• Author and execute test cases, debug issues, perform code reviews, monitor production performance, and troubleshoot problems.

• Engage in model evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and optimization to enhance performance, accuracy, latency, scalability, and cost efficiency.

• Implement AI solutions that adhere to security, privacy, governance, Responsible AI, HIPAA, and enterprise data protection standards.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, architecture diagrams, implementation guides, and operational runbooks.

• Take part in Agile or SAFe planning, sprint activities, estimation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Assess AI technologies, frameworks, and cloud services and propose enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, or AI engineering.

• At least 2 years of experience in building, deploying, or supporting AI/ML or Generative AI solutions within a production setting.

• Proficient in AWS or GCP, including serverless services, APIs, event-driven architectures, or cloud-native application development.

• Expertise in Python with experience in developing scalable applications utilizing modern software engineering principles.

• Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, vector databases, agentic workflows, or comparable AI technologies.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

• Skills in execution and delivery, encompassing planning, execution, and support.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (high school diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience).

• Preferred: hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI, or similar AI platforms.

• Preferred: experience in building RAG solutions using OpenSearch, Pinecone, pgvector, FAISS, or similar technologies.

• Preferred: experience developing AI agents with Copilot Studio, Power Automate, LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar frameworks.

• Preferred: experience in developing cloud-native APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

• Preferred: knowledge of Responsible AI, model evaluation, observability, LLM security, and governance practices.

• Preferred: experience in Agile and/or SAFe methodologies within large enterprise environments.

• Preferred: certifications in AWS, GCP, Azure, AI, or Machine Learning.
