Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement AI and Generative AI applications utilizing cloud-native services and contemporary software engineering methodologies.

• Construct and sustain AI-driven solutions leveraging AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex AI, large language models, and machine learning frameworks.

• Create Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems, encompassing document ingestion, vector search, embeddings, and retrieval pipelines.

• Formulate, test, and refine prompts, workflows, and agentic AI solutions using Bedrock Agents, Vertex AI Agent Builder, LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or comparable frameworks.

• Develop APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations for scalable and secure AI functionalities.

• Collaborate with product owners, engineers, data teams, security teams, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver AI solutions.

• Write and implement test cases, debug issues, conduct code reviews, monitor production performance, and resolve challenges.

• Engage in model evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and optimization to enhance performance, accuracy, latency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Deploy AI solutions in alignment with security, privacy, governance, Responsible AI, HIPAA, and enterprise data protection standards.

• Generate and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, architecture diagrams, implementation guides, and operational runbooks.

• Participate in Agile or SAFe planning, sprint activities, estimation, and continual improvement initiatives.

• Assess new AI technologies, frameworks, and cloud services and propose enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, or AI engineering.

• 2+ years of experience in building, deploying, or supporting AI/ML or Generative AI solutions in a production setting.

• Familiarity with AWS or GCP, including serverless services, APIs, event-driven architectures, or cloud-native application development.

• Proficient in Python with experience in developing scalable applications using modern software engineering best practices.

• Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, vector databases, agentic workflows, or similar AI technologies.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (high school diploma + 4 years of relevant experience).

• Preferred: hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI, or similar AI platforms.

• Preferred: experience in building RAG solutions using OpenSearch, Pinecone, pgvector, FAISS, or similar technologies.

• Preferred: experience in developing AI agents using Copilot Studio, Power Automate, LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar frameworks.

• Preferred: experience in developing cloud-native APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

• Preferred: knowledge of Responsible AI, model evaluation, observability, LLM security, and governance practices.

• Preferred: Agile and/or SAFe experience in large enterprise environments.

• AWS, GCP, Azure, AI, or Machine Learning certifications are preferred.
