
Senior Software Engineer, Agents

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of AI agents for designated clients throughout the stages of discovery, design, construction, evaluation, launch, and live operation.
• Collaborate with clients to map out workflows and convert vague business objectives into precise agent scopes and enforced business logic.
• Create and refine prompts, instructions, and conversation flows, iterating based on evaluations and actual transcripts.
• Integrate agents with client CRMs, ticketing systems, internal services, APIs, and external platforms.
• Develop reliable tool-call inputs and outputs while managing authentication, errors, and edge cases.
• Construct test sets that encompass successful paths, unsuccessful paths, edge cases, and hallucination risks.
• Assess agent quality and prepare agents for production, including implementing guardrails, addressing failure modes, managing latency, and controlling costs.
• Oversee live conversations and tool-call performance, debug logs and transcripts, and deploy fixes under pressure.
• Relay recurring patterns and absent capabilities back to the Product team.
• Strong customer engagement skills, including the ability to build trust with skeptical stakeholders.
• Capability to convert ambiguous business challenges into clear action plans.
• Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Fluency in integrating customer APIs, endpoints, protocols, and third-party systems.
• Proficiency in designing clean tool schemas and managing authentication, errors, and edge cases.
• Ability to validate custom, under-documented customer APIs.
• Expertise in crafting prompts and instructions for LLM behavior.
• Skill in writing unambiguous instructions and diagnosing prompt failures.
• An evaluation-first mindset and a keen product sense for facilitating effective conversations.
• Nice to have: general coding experience in TypeScript, Python, or SQL.
• Nice to have: previous experience in forward-deployed, solutions engineering, or customer-embedded roles.
• Nice to have: experience in conversational AI, voice technology, or contact center domains.
• Nice to have: familiarity with LLM evaluation tools and observability.
• A degree in computer science or a software engineering title is not mandatory.
• Candidates with backgrounds in systems administration, integration engineering, or technical support are encouraged to apply.
