Senior Software Engineer – Accounting Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +27 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the development, testing, and maintenance of scalable codebases for intricate accounting integrations and additional products as required.

• Create scalable integration architectures utilizing JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.

• Develop robust REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth/token flows, and event-driven AWS serverless workflows.

• Construct workflows using Lambda, SQS, and Step Functions to synchronize data with external accounting platforms.

• Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve critical system issues.

• Implement preventative strategies to ensure accuracy and reliability.

• Collaborate with and guide junior engineers.

• Establish thorough code and process documentation to facilitate team collaboration and knowledge transfer.

• Effectively manage daily tasks across multiple priorities.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance accuracy, performance, and reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.

• Comfortable navigating mixed modern and legacy codebases.

• Experience with AWS infrastructure, including Lambda, SQS/DLQs, S3, DynamoDB, and Step Functions.

• Proficient in designing robust webhooks, REST APIs, OAuth/token flows, and managing retries/idempotency.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and MongoDB/DocumentDB.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and event-driven systems.

• Practical experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor).

• Ability to assess, test, and take ownership of AI-assisted development outputs.

• Proactive mindset for identifying and addressing technical challenges with an emphasis on performance and scalability.
