Senior Software Development Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Oversee software development projects with minimal supervision from senior developers.

• Design and architect intricate software solutions.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers.

• Independently analyze and enhance code and system performance.

• Transform unclear requirements into structured, testable specifications, including edge cases and constraints.

• Identify edge cases and potential failure modes at the outset.

• Create and utilize APIs, including AI APIs, to incorporate AI functionalities into existing software.

• Assess AI-generated code for security, performance, and accuracy.

• Employ AI coding assistants as part of an iterative development approach combining AI and human input.

• Develop testable, modular code and engage in unit and integration testing.

• Operate within established change control procedures and compliance-sensitive environments.

• Contribute to reviews of requirements and technical specifications.

• Collaborate with Development, QA, Operations, and Product teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 7 years of experience in software development.

• Strong proficiency in .NET/C# and React.

• Experience with Python, AWS, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, including Azure DevOps.

• Familiarity with unit and integration testing frameworks.

• Extensive understanding of software architecture and system design.

• Experience working from functional and technical requirements, even when they are incomplete or ambiguous.

• Knowledge of API contracts and interface design from both consumer and producer viewpoints.

• Understanding of versioned contract design and considerations for backward compatibility.

• Experience utilizing AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar tools.

• Ability to assess AI-generated code for security, performance, accuracy, and maintainability.

• Understanding of prompt engineering principles, including structured prompts and refinement cycles.

• Awareness of AI limitations and the risks of hallucination.

• Experience with AWS deployment and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with best practices in observability and logging.

• Experience in compliance-sensitive or regulated environments, with knowledge of auditability, traceability, and documented change controls.

• Proven ability to work effectively within small, cross-functional feature teams.

• Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English in a business context.
