Senior Software Development Engineer

📋 Description

• Develop the NHI Governance sector within BeyondTrust’s Pathfinder offerings.

• Architect, build, test, and manage scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines.

• Take ownership of features from design and implementation to production rollout, observability, and operational health.

• Collaborate across the stack by integrating services with front-end workflows and platform teams.

• Engage in and help facilitate design discussions while making technical trade-offs.

• Analyze requirements, identify gaps, suggest simplifications, and assist in scoping and sequencing work.

• Ensure quality through code reviews, testing, and secure development methodologies.

• Investigate and address intricate bugs and reliability challenges.

• Guide less-experienced engineers and share best practices in cloud-native development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient programming skills in one or more contemporary languages (C#, Go, TypeScript, Java, or similar).

• Extensive experience in designing and developing APIs and microservices.

• Full-stack competencies, encompassing backend services and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.

• Practical, daily experience utilizing Claude Code or similar agentic AI coding tools.

• Direct AWS experience in building and managing production services, including compute, IAM, and managed data stores.

• Familiarity with CI/CD practices.

• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Knowledge of data modeling and experience working with data at scale.

• Strong understanding of modern testing and observability practices in cloud environments.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to make progress in uncertain situations.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

• Preferred experience in identity security domains, including IAM, NHI/Secrets, AWS IAM, Microsoft Entra ID, and OAuth/OIDC.

• Preferred familiarity with event-driven architecture, graph data modeling, analytics at scale, and multi-tenant services.

• Preferred knowledge of Angular, React, or Vue with TypeScript.
