Senior Software Developer – Unix, C, Oracle, SQL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Create testing procedures, programming, and documentation for software systems to ensure adherence to standard practices.

• Contribute to the documentation of both new and existing programs to guarantee information is easily accessible as necessary.

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and analyze software applications.

• Tailor software solutions based on research and customer requirements as needed.

• Manage and facilitate communications with other departments and/or commercial vendors to investigate and resolve significant software issues and ensure optimal system performance.

• Participate in meetings and maintain ongoing communication with management and customers regarding the status of software development and any challenges encountered.

• Establish expertise as a technical lead on large projects involving specific software packages.

• Deliver first-level on-call support to the customer base.

• Provide on-call assistance to address production issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in Software Engineering or Operating Systems Programming with Unix, C, Scripts, SQL, and web servers.

• Experience in design and coding.

• Knowledge of COBOL and Mainframe systems is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Git and Github.com is a plus.

• Proficient in using source code debuggers.

• Strong skills in writing SQL queries and performing data analysis for troubleshooting and validation purposes.

• Comfortable providing support for production issues, conducting defect analysis, data investigations, and end-to-end testing.

• On-call support is mandatory.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs and travel as necessary.
