Senior Software Developer, SME

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the Senior Software Development Subject Matter Expert (SME) in charge of software development operations.

• Offer guidance as necessary while engaging in Operation and Maintenance (O&M) software development tasks.

• Collaborate with the Project Manager, Technical Lead, Cyber Security SME, and QA Tester to carry out daily activities of the developer team.

• Manage priorities and organize/lead technical meetings for developers.

• Resolve issues and suggest solutions.

• Provide technical insights and enhance processes.

• Create work proposals for assessment and approval.

• Keep the Project Manager/Task Lead updated on progress.

• Contribute to the development of software code changes and updates as an active member of the software development team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Public Trust/Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance is mandatory.

• At least 15 years of experience in software/web development, engineering, or optimization utilizing Object Oriented Programming.

• Comprehensive full-stack J2EE experience, including Java 17/21, JavaScript, Angular JS, React, Preact, JEE, Spring Boot/Join Faces, PrimeFaces, JQuery, Java Beans, and JSF, or similar technologies.

• Practical experience transitioning to or working with Single Page Applications (SPA).

• Proficiency in ECLIPSE, Visual Studio, JBoss/RedHat Linux, zLinux, Tomcat, HTML5, UML, .NET, Visual Basic, IBM Liberty, Rocket Verastream Bridge Integrator (VBI), open source iText API, or equivalent tools.

• Hands-on experience with DevOps, CI/CD Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Incident Tracking/Management, and Enterprise Container Platform (ECP) containers, or similar environments.

• Practical experience in unit testing, peer reviews, code check-in/-out procedures, requirements analysis, LOE assessment, screen mockups, defect resolution, server troubleshooting, networking, and environment configuration.

• Experience in drafting system technical documents, software user manuals, Visio diagrams, and process documentation.

• Capability to quickly integrate into teams and familiarize oneself with custom-built software applications and open-source components.

• A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field, with a primary emphasis on software development/engineering is required.

• Certifications in software development, security, networking, or system administration are advantageous.

• Preferred experience with GitHub Repository, JIRA, ECLIPSE 2022 or later, ServiceNow, Selenium, IRS Enterprise Life Cycle (ELC), OneSDLC, IRM/IRS Security regulations, IRM 2.5 System Development, and 508 Compliance.

• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, development environments, and change control processes.

• Familiarity with web interfaces to mainframes is a plus.
