Senior Software Developer – Node.js, Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Develop the web platform that drives the business from start to finish.

• Serve as the primary developer for AI-driven solutions.

• Assist AI engineers in integrating Python-based AI tools into Node.js and Python backends.

• Design, create, and sustain web services and APIs using Python/Node.js or other specialized technology stacks.

• Uphold coding standards to ensure clean, concise, stable, and extensible code.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and promptly resolve production issues.

• Collaborate with teams in AI, product management, front-end development, QA, DevOps, and external partners.

• Make strategic architecture decisions that balance scalability, performance, and maintainability.

• Stay updated with industry trends, assess tools, and suggest product-level enhancements.

• Mentor both new and existing team members.

• Manage and prioritize the technical backlog.

• Keep technical documentation up to date and facilitate team communication in English.

• Promote an open, feedback-oriented culture and streamline workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in designing, building, and operating production web services.

• Mastery of Computer Science principles, including data structures, algorithms, complexity, and concurrency.

• Strong experience in distributed systems.

• Proficient in Node.js, TypeScript, and at least one server framework such as Express or NestJS.

• Proven experience in creating and maintaining production-grade RESTful APIs.

• Strong understanding of API versioning, authentication, rate limiting, and pagination patterns.

• Expertise in scalable architecture patterns, including microservices, event-driven systems, and CQRS.

• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes containerization and CI/CD pipelines.

• Solid SQL skills, including schema design, indexing, migrations, and performance optimization.

• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in English.

• A growth mindset; openness to feedback and a commitment to continuous learning, documentation, and knowledge sharing.

• Nice to have: experience deploying and managing services on AWS, including Lambda, ECS/EKS, RDS, SQS, and CloudWatch.

• Nice to have: proficiency in Python and Python server backends.

• Nice to have: familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
