Senior Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Serve as a technical leader within the team and the wider engineering organization.

• Demonstrate best practices by utilizing agentic-AI tools as the primary methodology.

• Influence architecture and design while enhancing engineering quality standards.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to convert technical decisions into business value.

• Develop architecture, prototypes, and design proposals that align with the product and platform vision.

• Shape technical direction through architecture reviews, RFCs, prototypes, design discussions, and active SDLC delivery.

• Outline and implement product/platform architecture roadmaps alongside senior developers, architects, and tech leads.

• Decompose large initiatives into manageable, incremental deliveries.

• Advocate for proposals from design to production implementation.

• Enhance product builds, CI/CD pipelines, and the overall software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• Propel automation across builds, testing, deployment, and operational workflows.

• Assess emerging technologies, evaluate build-vs-buy decisions, and identify platform modernization opportunities.

• Diagnose persistent production issues and enhance reliability, observability, monitoring, and incident response.

• Maintain technical documentation and facilitate design discussions.

• Represent the team in interactions with Technology, Operations, Product/UX, Security, SMEs, and external stakeholders.

• Guide developers through design reviews, AI sessions, and provide feedback on skills, prompts, and agent inputs.

• Define and refine backend service architecture and standards to ensure scalability, security, reliability, and APIs.

• Design, construct, and manage distributed cloud-native services.

• Collaborate with QA, Security, Product, Operations, architects, and technical leads.

• Oversee the cloud-platform security posture and CVE remediation.

• Apply or review applied-cryptography and secure-transport patterns.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 8 years of professional software development experience with a proven impact beyond a single team.

• Experience in designing and managing distributed, cloud-native SaaS/multi-tenant platforms at scale, preferably on AWS.

• Strong foundation in software principles: OOP, design patterns, SOLID principles, and code quality advocacy.

• Familiarity with agentic-AI software development practices.

• Proficiency in designing and utilizing HTTP APIs such as REST or GraphQL.

• Experience in mentoring developers and shaping architectural decisions across teams.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong drive to enhance processes, tools, methodologies, and product quality.

• In-depth knowledge of cloud-native service architecture.

• Background in native Windows/C++ or a willingness to develop skills for legacy codebase refactoring and patching.

• Experience with Java 25, SpringBoot, Spring Cloud Gateway, AWS, CloudFormation, Terraform, Kubernetes/Istio, AWS CDK, DocumentDB, PostgreSQL, JUnit, New Relic, Jira, Devin, Claude, GitHub.

• Responsible usage and assessment of AI-assisted development tools.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Azure or Google Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, open-source contributions, native Windows development (C++/MFC/COM), or applied cryptography libraries.
