Senior Software Application Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the architecture and technical direction for impactful platform capabilities.

• Design and enhance scalable APIs, distributed services, and data flows utilizing TypeScript, Node.js, Redis, OpenSearch, PostgreSQL, and event-driven methodologies.

• Lead the engineering of AI-driven product capabilities, which includes LLM integrations, retrieval and evaluation pipelines, orchestration, tool usage, and human-in-the-loop controls.

• Implement agentic SDLC practices such as specification-driven development, AI-assisted design and implementation, automated test generation, code review support, release validation, and incident investigation.

• Develop evaluation and guardrail systems for AI-assisted and agentic workflows.

• Establish production-readiness standards across AWS services and cloud-native infrastructure.

• Drive secure-by-design implementations that align with OWASP practices, including tenant isolation, data protection, secrets management, access control, and compliance-aware engineering.

• Spearhead multi-team initiatives from technical discovery to rollout.

• Elevate engineering standards through architecture reviews, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD quality gates, reliability practices, and comprehensive documentation.

• Mentor engineers and contribute to shaping technical roadmaps, hiring processes, and engineering operational practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent depth of professional experience.

• Over 10 years of software engineering experience, with significant involvement in designing and operating large-scale, customer-facing SaaS systems.

• Proven technical leadership across teams.

• Extensive expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, SQL, API design, distributed systems, and practical system architecture.

• Experience in building or operating AI-enabled software in production, including LLM application patterns, RAG or retrieval systems, tool calling or workflow orchestration, evaluation, monitoring, and risk controls.

• Background in utilizing and enhancing AI-native or agentic SDLC workflows that involve human review, test coverage, security controls, and accountable engineering ownership.

• Familiarity with Docker or container platforms, GitHub, CI/CD, observability, and cloud security practices.

• Proficiency in event-driven architecture, multi-tenancy, performance, reliability, and security.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
