Senior Site Reliability Engineer – Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Establish requirements throughout the product lifecycle to shape new designs and standards.

• Offer support, leadership, and motivation to project teams.

• Develop and uphold Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Support teams.

• Engage with support, operations, hardware, and engineering teams to analyze and resolve complex issues.

• Oversee incidents and carry out post-mortem analyses.

• Participate in on-call duty rotations.

• Direct the restoration and resolution of service-affecting problems.

• Design and execute automation and efficiency enhancements for Akamai's computing infrastructure and services.

• Provide support for customer-facing applications and infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Proven experience in architecting hardware, software, and infrastructure at scale.

• Expert-level experience in a Development or Systems Administration role.

• Familiarity with large-scale distributed systems.

• Capability to align with strategic business goals and coordinate the efforts of other engineers.

• Outstanding communication, mentorship, and interpersonal abilities.

• Well-informed perspectives on technology and software design.

• Extensive expertise in Linux, hardware, and performance optimization.
