Senior ServiceNow Developer – Minimum Interim Secret Clearance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and implement ServiceNow configurations, custom applications, and automated workflows.

• Write and sustain both server-side and client-side JavaScript utilizing Glide APIs, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, and ACLs.

• Prioritize configuration over customization to maintain instance upgradeability and reduce long-term technical debt.

• Create advanced Service Catalog items, encompassing catalog client scripts, UI policies, variable sets, and record producers.

• Design and construct readable, maintainable automations using Flow Designer.

• Aid in the enhancement and optimization of Incident, Problem, Change, Request, and Knowledge Management modules.

• Collaborate with business analysts and platform administrators on process design.

• Design and execute REST, SOAP, and IntegrationHub integrations.

• Develop transforms, implement error handling, and establish retry logic for dependable integrations.

• Conduct unit, integration, and regression testing, including coverage with the Automated Test Framework.

• Maintain update sets, release documentation, and technical design records.

• Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and design gaps early in the process.

• Ensure solutions comply with Section 508 accessibility standards and FISMA/NIST security controls.

• Mentor developers and advocate for ServiceNow development best practices.

• Establish and enforce development standards; oversee code reviews, peer reviews, release management support, and governance and compliance checks.

• Engage in client calls and technical design discussions, transforming business requirements into actionable technical solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow development and configuration, including mentoring or guiding other developers.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited university is required.

• Strong skills in platform scripting, including both server-side and client-side JavaScript, Glide APIs, Business Rules, and Script Includes.

• Experience in building Service Catalog items, workflows or Flow Designer automations, and integrations using REST, SOAP, and IntegrationHub.

• Proven track record of managing complex builds from requirements through to rollout.

• Demonstrated ability to set or uphold development standards within a team and articulate technical solutions during client-facing discussions.

• Experience in delivering projects within an Agile/Scrum environment.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across technical and functional teams.

• Active Interim Secret security clearance at a minimum, with the capability to obtain and maintain a final Secret clearance.

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Availability during East Coast business hours.

• Preferred: ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).

• Preferred: At least one ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certification; CIS-ITSM is preferred.

• Preferred: Practical experience with the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF).

• Preferred: Experience in release coordination, version control, and automated testing strategies.

• Preferred: Prior experience in supporting federal or defense contracting environments.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Service Portal, UI Builder, or the Now Experience framework.

• Preferred: Development experience outside of ServiceNow, including JavaScript, REST, and SOAP integrations, or other platforms.

• Preferred: Working knowledge of ITSM, IT asset and configuration management, and ITIL practices.
