
Senior Service Account Executive – Controls & Building Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +2 more states.
• Cultivate and sustain strategic relationships with current customers to promote service agreement renewals, facilitate project work, and provide outstanding service value.
• Discover, evaluate, and secure new business prospects for controls service, building automation enhancements, retrofits, system optimization initiatives, and related solutions.
• Act as the primary contact and trusted advisor for existing customer accounts.
• Analyze customer operational challenges and create customized solutions that enhance system performance, reliability, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort.
• Generate and oversee a steady sales pipeline to meet or surpass annual revenue and profitability goals.
• Assist in the design, testing, and implementation of new services, including the application of AI/ML and innovative software tools.
• Work collaboratively with operations, engineering, estimating, and project management teams to develop solutions and present competitive proposals.
• Prepare, present, negotiate, and finalize service agreements, maintenance contracts, system upgrades, and retrofit opportunities.
• Retain ownership of customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle, before, during, and after project execution.
• Leverage digital tools, building data, and system analytics to pinpoint pull-through work and proactive customer solutions.
• Create multi-year customer agreements and strategic account plans.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in the controls and building automation sector.
• Carry out other responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
• At least seven (7) years of experience in controls service sales, building automation systems, energy services, facility optimization, or a related technical sales environment.
• Proven experience in developing and managing customer accounts, service contracts, and recurring revenue opportunities.
• In-depth knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS), Direct Digital Controls (DDC), HVAC controls, and facility systems.
• Experience in selling service agreements, controls upgrades, retrofits, energy optimization solutions, or similar technical service offerings.
• Capability to identify customer needs, formulate strategic solutions, and convey value to decision-makers and facility stakeholders.
• Strong consultative and solution-selling abilities with a history of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Experience in developing proposals, scopes of work, estimates, and customer presentations.
• Ability to establish credibility with facility directors, building owners, maintenance managers, and operational leadership teams.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in managing multiple priorities while maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Valid Driver's License in good standing, issued by resident state, is required.
• Travel is necessary.
• Experience with or competing against leading controls providers such as Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Trane, Carrier, or similar organizations is highly preferred.
