Senior Server Tech Services Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with the cSTS team lead during essential maintenance projects.

• Work in conjunction with Network Infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineering teams to evaluate issues and implement prompt workflows.

• Identify and troubleshoot significant hardware and network problems across the global infrastructure.

• Facilitate server repairs by coordinating efforts with ISPs and Field Engineers.

• Manage the return process of Akamai equipment to warehouses or vendors.

• Observe hardware failure trends and proactively communicate findings to Hardware Engineering and vendors.

• Oversee intricate technical escalations.

• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.

• Promote operational excellence.

• Ensure peak performance of Akamai's Content Delivery Network and Internet Security products.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8 years of relevant experience in the field.

• Bachelor's degree in technology, a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Proven experience in fault diagnosis related to network and server hardware technologies, including drives, RAM, motherboards, and RAID.

• Extensive knowledge of Layer 1 and Layer 2 troubleshooting.

• Understanding of the OSI Model.

• Proficient in Unix/Linux CLI.

• Experience managing data center technologies and infrastructure environments.

• Strong analytical skills to systematically collect information and resolve intricate technical problems.

• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, third-party service providers, and external vendors.
