Senior Security Engineer – Platforms & AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Uruguay, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical security posture for production AI systems, encompassing infrastructure, pipelines, and agents.

• Strengthen cloud infrastructure, APIs, internal tools, and CI/CD pipelines through encryption, secrets management, logging, and access controls.

• Execute scanning, penetration testing, adversarial testing, threat modeling, and manual security assessments.

• Lead the effort in vulnerability remediation until closure.

• Protect AI and agentic systems from prompt injection and adversarial inputs.

• Establish guardrails for tool-calling and agentic systems that are constrained, observable, auditable, and fail-safe.

• Oversee automated security, cost, and architecture audits across client codebases.

• Set up audit checks, severity grading, frequency, and accuracy.

• Implement monitoring and detection mechanisms, investigate anomalies, and conduct root-cause analysis.

• Manage incident response, including containment and solutions to prevent future occurrences.

• Collaborate within client repositories, tooling, and compliance assessments such as HIPAA.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, application security, DevSecOps, or offensive security.

• Solid engineering fundamentals including testing, code review, CI/CD, Git, containers, and API design.

• Extensive and up-to-date knowledge of the AWS ecosystem.

• Proven experience in identifying and addressing vulnerabilities in live production environments.

• Background in securing AI or LLM-powered systems or automated agents, with a focus on prompt injection, adversarial inputs, unauthorized actions, unsafe outputs, and data leakage.

• Active engagement with AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot in practical delivery tasks.

• Excellent communication abilities.

• Proficient written and spoken English, at a B2/C1 level or higher.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Awareness of prompt-injection attacks, adversarial AI techniques, AI guardrails, and behavioral anomaly detection.

• Familiarity with cloud security tools, SIEM and observability platforms, penetration testing tools, endpoint security platforms, and infrastructure-as-code security (Terraform, Bicep, or similar).

• Experience delivering under compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or HIPAA.

• Previous experience in high-growth startups, fintech, banking, or payments sectors.

• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, AWS Security Specialty, or similar.

• Contributions to open-source security tools, published technical articles, or active engagement in the security community.
