Senior Security Engineer, Cloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain cloud environments that are secure, resilient, and optimized for performance.

• Collaborate closely with the Developer Platform team to integrate security within the architecture and tools utilized by developers daily.

• Work in tandem with our IAM team to create and implement identity and access strategies across all cloud environments.

• Strengthen cloud platforms against emerging threats while ensuring they remain resilient and highly available.

• Embrace a DevOps mentality by developing automation, pipelines, and guardrails using Terraform/IaC and Kubernetes.

• Assist in securing the infrastructure that supports AI-driven pipelines and agentic workflows, which are increasingly important to the software supply chain.

• Serve as a trusted advisor and collaborator across engineering, translating security needs into practical, adoptable designs that other teams will want to utilize — generously sharing context and prioritizing shared outcomes over individual accolades.

• Help establish the long-term architectural vision for the secure scaling of our cloud environments.

• Modify architecture and priorities as the organization grows — adjusting plans as requirements, tools, or team structures evolve.

• Support relevant incident response investigations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong, hands-on experience with GCP administration — this is essential, not optional.

• Experience with AWS and/or Azure is an advantage.

• Solid background in DevOps — comfortable with Terraform/IaC, Kubernetes (GKE), and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with software supply chain security concepts, particularly SLSA, is a significant plus.

• Experience in securing or architecting AI/ML infrastructure or agentic workflows.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities — you'll plan, coordinate, and build consensus with the Developer Platform team, IAM stakeholders, and other organizational partners.

• Staff-level experience in architecting and securing complex, multi-cloud environments.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and rapid change — prior experience in a fast-paced or late-stage startup is a strong advantage.

• Proven track record of designing systems that are secure, resilient, and designed to enhance — rather than impede — engineering velocity.
