Senior Software Engineer – Cloud Platform Developer Relations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the main technical liaison between the Tiny Homes Platform and its clients.

• Leverage expertise in GKE, Vantage networking, and mesh/control-plane internals to identify and resolve deployment obstacles for containerized workloads.

• Transform recurring customer pain points into reusable technologies, tools, documentation, video materials, and self-service solutions.

• Maintain proficiency across GKE, Docker, Envoy/Wayfinder mesh, Vantage, Tailscale, Flux CD, and CI/CD tools.

• Interact directly with customers to assess and resolve deployment challenges.

• Convert recurring issues into documentation, tools, or process enhancements instead of temporary fixes.

• Stay updated with platform knowledge as components, APIs, and deprecations progress.

• Design, test, implement, and maintain software applications.

• Create functional and destructive testing suites.

• Collaborate with team members in agile methodologies and the Product Team on valuable, developer-ready, clear, and testable user stories.

• Provide support and mentorship to junior engineers through guidance and technical discussions.

• Report to a Software Engineering Manager or Senior Manager; no direct reports will be managed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen years old.

• Must have the legal right to work in the United States.

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience.

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification in a field related to the position.

• Fundamental knowledge of Docker, GKE, and Kubernetes.

• Understanding of cloud networking, including Vantage, IP tables, and Identity Providers.

• Experience with Envoy, Wayfinder, and Tailscale mesh layers.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, including Spinnaker, GitOps, GitHub, and Flux CD.

• Knowledge of Cloud Admission Controllers and tenant workload configurations.

• No prior leadership experience is necessary.
