Senior Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Oversee, identify, and address threats within Variant Bio's products and AWS cloud infrastructure.

• Create and deploy security tools and solutions as requirements change.

• Conduct routine policy evaluations and compliance audits.

• Build security-oriented code, libraries, and frameworks for engineering teams to utilize.

• Partner with security and product development colleagues to tackle intricate challenges and enhance organizational security standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Over 8 years of experience in designing and implementing security systems, tools, or frameworks.

• Significant experience with AWS security services, IAM, SSO, and Control Tower for governance across multiple accounts.

• Experience managing IAM permissions across different accounts and regions.

• Networking expertise, including knowledge of VPN and Zero Trust connectivity.

• In-depth understanding of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures.

• Proficient in Python, Rust, or another programming language.

• Capability to quickly prototype and iterate on security solutions.

• Familiarity with AI/ML security, encompassing model pipelines, training data, prompt injection, and data exfiltration.

• Proven history of facilitating ISO 27001 or SOC 2 readiness.

• Experience securing systems in clinical, healthcare, or FDA-regulated environments.

• Knowledge of HIPAA and GDPR regulations.

• Demonstrated ability to influence engineers in the development of security products.

• Contributions to the security or privacy field through research, open source projects, or presentations.
